Solution Spotlight: Overview Symantec Antivirus 10 expands upon Symantec's robust prior antivirus software versions by incorporating a number of new features, the most significant of which is extensive anti-spyware support. Recognizing the extended threat spyware presents, and the significant disruption it causes users and IT staff alike, Symantec has focused this release of incorporating robust anti-spyware support into SAV, leveraging the product's existing centralized management and administrative tools. The anti-spyware support includes the ability to repair side-effects caused by spyware and adware, in an automated manner. Symantec Antivirus 10 also includes streamlined administration, policy-based administration and enforcement (which can be applied to groups on a granular basis), detection of antivirus client status (Symantec, 3rd Party, or lack of an antivirus client), threat tracing tools, and scalability and administrative enhancements. In addition, Symantec VPN Sentry allows VPN access to be restricted when clients do not comply with pre-defined antivirus configuration requirements.
