Symantec 7100 IPS

Overview

Symantec's Intrusion Prevention System 7100 is an appliance that monitors your network for unauthorized traffic, based both on signatures and on behavior.  Information from the IPS can be analyzed on a management console, and rules can be configured to allow the IPS to react to security events.

Network IPS technology is the next logical step beyond a firewall, to allow not only for logging of traffic, but for reacting to attacks including hackers, worms and malicious code.  Network IPS can be applied at the perimeter of the network, or within the LAN to prevent unauthorized internal traffic.

QTS also offers its QuikSecure Assisted Security Management service for Symantec Network IPS appliances.
