Cisco Network IDS

Overview

Cisco's Network IDS (Intrusion Detection System) is an appliance that monitors your network for unauthorized traffic, based both on signatures and on behavior.  Information from the IDS can be analyzed on a management console, and rules can be configured to allow the IDS to react to security events.

Network IDS technology is the next logical step beyond a firewall, to allow not only for logging of traffic, but for reacting to attacks including hackers, worms and malicious code.  Network IDS can be applied at the perimeter of the network, or within the LAN to prevent unauthorized internal traffic.

QTS also offers its QuikSecure Assisted Security Management service for Cisco Network IDS appliances.
